he died because of a rare diease called sarcoidosis.and it happens to all african american it can spread in like a minute and he died on August 9th, 2008 also due to complications of pneumonia. hope it helps

He had some kind of lung disorder and it was complicated by pnuemonia.He died either the 8th,9th or 10th of this month.He was a great comedian.We will miss him! By the way,I dont think Christine L is right about all African Americans getting that lung disorder.
