  1. cerebral edema is the medical term

  2. The most recent updated version of his biography cites that the analgesic story initially told was a cover up.

Apparently he was under a lot of stress from the intensive training as well as filming Enter the Dragon and Game of Death and had eaten cannabis before and collapsed.  He said he didn't want to smoke it because that would be bad for fitness but unfortunately eating cannabis is very toxic.  Anyway, the doctor warned him never to do it again but apparently he did and his doctor feels certain that cannabis and not the analgesic pill should have been the major cause of death.

We all do silly things though so it doesn't change who he was or anything.  A lot of people get very defensive about this.  It's a pity he dies so young though, even though if he lived to see Brandon killed it would have been very hard on him.  They're both buried together.

  3. He died on my 5th birthday 7/20/73 at age 32.7. His brain was swollen and many blood vessels in it burst. He was at the flat of Betty Ting Pei with whom he was said to be having an affair. He complained of a headache, and she gave him an Equagesic pill. It has both pain killer and tranquilizer. Marijuana was also found in his body. raymond chow could not awaken Bruce when he came. Some say Bruce was hypersensitive and died of an allergic reaction to the pill and the marijauna combined. A doctor wrote an article about him in "PENTHOUSE" magazine. He said Bruce was prone to seizures, for which he had treated him several times. His theory is that Bruce had such a seizure and died before anyone was aware he was having one. Some say Bruce was given dim hseuh=death touch for revealing Chinese martial arts secrets to non-Chinese men or just for offending the wrong person. Bruce was quite egotistical, and such a man could offend many men. One wild theory is that a little dragon among big dragons is soon destroyed. Bruce was born 11/27/40 a Dragon Year on the Chinese calendar and also in the Hour of the Dragon. His Chinese name was Li Jun-Faan, and in Hong Kong movies, he was billed as Li Sai Lung= Little Dragon Li. Another wild theory is that he had his perspiration glands in his armpits removed, and he died from overheating when he did martial arts. That makes the least sense of any theory, since he was lying in bed when he died.

  6. According to www.answers.com Bruce Lee died on set during the making of his last movie. He died from an ab-reaction to painkillers by means of swelling to the brain. The cast and crew thought Bruce was having an epileptic fit.

There was some speculation that Lee may have been poisoned by Kung Fu Masters angry at Lee for giving away secrets of their art, but the theory was never proven. There were also rumours that Lee had links to the local Mafia in Hong Kong, but again there was no credible evidence linking Lee's death to murder.

Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee also died on set in 1993. A prop gun went off by accident with a live bullet in its cylinder.

Bruce Lee thought that he had been cursed by demons and the curse would last for three generations in his family. The death of his son so far gives sad credence to Lee's belief.

  7. I heard on set at a movie he was working on one of the guns was loaded and it shot him. Remember though, Bruce Lee`s death is not whats important, its remembering how he lived and what he did for martial arts as the greatest master of all time.

  8. From what I understand, he died of an brain aneurysm. Interesting fact, the Arab guy who starred in 24 season 2 or 3, was the one who accidentally shot Brandon Lee.

  9. I heard it was over training, he was the best at what he did and was incredible fit definately pushing his fitness to new levels all the time.

  10. idk but this website says that they agreed upon cerebral  edema.  th doctors have not come up with a certain death.

  11. I heard he'd eaten some hash and had a bad reaction to it.

    No one knows.

  12. steriod over dose

  13. Wizar is right I only would to the time line that Lee fainted and had complained about headaches few weeks before. The Doctor said he was healthy, but friends say he was sleeping little and working way too hard.

Also wasn't Chow who first tried to wake up Lee, it was Ting Pei (the wannabe actress) then she Called Mr Chow, he got there and then medical help was called to the apartment (In my opinion they wasted too much time playing Doctor, she should had called the ambulance from the start and not wait for Chow to arrive while Lee was dying).

All those stories about drug overdose, curse and mafia are just lies from people that were shocked by his death and couldn't accept he was gone, or from people who were jealous of him. He was just very unlucky.

  14. On July 20, 1973, Lee was in Hong Kong, due to have dinner with former James Bond star George Lazenby, with whom he intended to make a film. According to Lee's wife Linda, Lee met producer Raymond Chow at 2 p.m. at home to discuss the making of the movie Game of Death. They worked until 4 p.m. and then drove together to the home of Lee's colleague Betty Ting Pei, a Taiwanese actress. The three went over the script at Pei's home, and then Chow left to attend a dinner meeting.

A short time later, Lee complained of a headache, and Ting Pei gave him an analgesic (painkiller), Equagesic, which contained both aspirin and a muscle relaxant. Around 7:30 p.m., he went to lie down for a nap. After Lee did not turn up for dinner, Chow came to the apartment but could not wake Lee up. A doctor was summoned, who spent ten minutes attempting to revive him before sending him by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. However, Lee was dead by the time he reached the hospital. There was no visible external injury; however, his brain had swollen considerably, from 1,400 to 1,575 grams (a 13% increase). Lee was 32 years old. The only two substances found during the autopsy were Equagesic and trace amounts of cannabis. On October 15, 2005, Chow stated in an interview that Lee died from a hypersensitivity to the muscle relaxant in Equagesic, which he described as a common ingredient in painkillers. When the doctors announced Lee's death officially, it was ruled a "death by misadventure."
