  3. Initially there is no  Chennai. It doesn't have any Historical importance. There used to be two Fishermen's villages. In between these villages Britishers established a settlement after buying that land from a Telugu landlord Venkatappa Nayakudu.

    Slowly the settlement reached to a Town size and was named as Chennapatnam, bt Britishers used to call as Madras and was capital of Madras Presidency State(includes Coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema and Kerala) of British India. After independence  Madras was retained by Tamils(so they gave Thirupati to Andhra).Now it is known as Chennai and its 369 th birthday is nearby.
