  1. She was amazing.  Typical underdog story where she beats the odds by coming from behind.  The American used up her burst of pace at about the 250m to 300m area, she was REALLY fast but could not maintain it and started to lag behind.  Superb victory.

  2. Ricky is the one who keeps playing the race card everytime someone even mentions a non-white competitor, this is a fair question and does not imply prejudice. ricky is breading the racism, every time someone mentions a non white athlete he accuses the person of racism most people didnt expect her to win and are proud that she did.ricky you are just a BAW BAG!!!!!

  3. AS MANY OTHER WORLD KNOWN ATHLETES SHE HAS BEEN UNDER SUSPICION OF TAKING ILLICIT DRUGS.  JUST HAVE A LOOK  AT HER PHYSIQUE.

DRUGS IN SPORT SHOULD BE LEGALISED TO PREVENT USELESS DEATHS AND ILL HEALTH AS LONG AS THEY ARE MONITORED PROPERLY

  4. She ran better than the other participants.

  5. there`s something fishy about the way she finished , as if she held back so as  to not win by too big a margin.

  6. At the risk of a violation for 'insulting other participants' - is the reason you didn't think she'd win is because she is of non-white origin? Smacks a bit of that to me...

  7. OMG why the F are people playing the race card again? Being from a different race doesnt prove anything. Whites have won the athletics in the past and blacks have won too.

Ohrugugu won by sheer determination. Sanya Richards from the USA was gasing it from the start hence she burned up towards the last 100m. Then Ohrugu ran like she never did to win gold.

We should be proud of this. Its not like we win gold everyday in the athletics. Its a tough event

  8. Iv'e been making people laugh all day mis pronouncing her name Oghrooogieruhiy

  9. Simple. Apart from running faster than the other 7 women on the track, she ran a tactically better race. The Septic in the arm gear (Richards) blew her bolt too early.

  10. she may not have been favourite but she ran a very good tactical race, plus she is currently world champion, european champion i believe so it was not totally unexpected. Plus the American ran a poor tactical race. Watching Michael Johnson commentating on the race, he said that is what she often does, runs fast out of the blocks, then a good three quarters, then tends to overcook it and fades at the end. So it was a great race as far as Ohuruguru was concerned.

  11. If anything I wasn't expecting that either esp not after seeing the heats, I guess she saved everything for the final luckily.

  12. 8 athletes start at point A and finish at point B which is 400 metres away ,the one who gets to point B first is the winner

    Really is that simple

    It's not rocket science

  13. you need to keep up mate, she was the favourite to win.

  14. She ran a superb tactical race.

Shanya Richards has a history of starting off at a pace she can't maintain. A lot of the other athletes tried to keep with her, and tired after about 350m.

Ms. Ohuruogu simply ran the first 250m at a pace that suited her, ignoring what anyone else was doing, and had enough energy left to accelerate when everyone else was slowing down.
