 this is what really happened, coming into the turn sterling marlin tried to pass dale and knew he didnt have enough room, he stated this on tv, his words were "I was going to pass but right before i did i knew i couldnt clear and i had wrecked dale" but when dale the wall the belts unsnapped from the seat and the structure support slamming his helmet into the bar in front of him which would be the roof support, helmet arnt designed to protect your from at 192mph hit
