How did Ellen Page find acting opportunities?

I'm from the same place as her and they are very difficult to find here.

She's been acting since she was ten.

She was first noticed because an casting director came to her school and casted her in 'Pit Pony'.

So i guess she was in a bunch of plays and such, but I do know one thing and that is that she didn't necessarily want to become 'famous' but she wanted to do something she loves. Thats why I'm such a big fan of her, because she is so down-to-earth.
