How did France get to be associated with romance?

It is because of the high rate of STDs contracted in France.  When the connection was made in the early 1800s they just thought it was due to the poor morals of France, later they found out is was not only poor morals, but it was also a direct result of laziness and poor hygiene.

as far as i know, one of the reasons is bcause their language is latin based which makes it one of the love languages.and its a beautiful place.
