  1. Jesus was crucified on the cross after so many other forms of abuse. He was aware that he would die in his life my the hand of man , and the Bible states that as he lay dying on the cross , he asked God , his father , to forgive them ( man) for they do not know what they do. In a world of sin , Jesus died , and then rose from his grave 3 days later , in order to deliver us from our sins. It was not giving us a license to "sin" as we so choose , but that as humans , all of who have sinned , will be forgiven , as long as we recognize , and attone for our sins. I hope this helps.

  2. At the time before Christ, there was no real bridge between us and heaven.  When you died you either went to Adams bosom (purgatory) or h**l.  But when Christ came into the world, God gave us his son so that all our sins can be forgiven, lead us to salvation, and bridge the way into heaven.  In SHort.

  3. By his sin, Adam forfeited perfect human life and sold us into slavery to sin and death.  Jesus was the exact equivalent of Adam, a perfect human.  His death repurchased or redeemed mankind from that slavery because God accepted the value of his sacrifice as ransom to buy mankind back.  Jesus paid the ransom price just as one pays ransom to buy the freedom of for example a kidnapped person.

  4. This will be an overly simplified explanation. If you want the details, you will have to e-mail me for the passages. Then you can study them for yourself.

God created a sinless world and gave us the choice to keep His commands.

Eve and Adam ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge. This was the command they violated.

This and all sin, the violation of God's commands, separates us from the relationship with God that He wants with man.

In the law of Moses given to him by God, God lets us know that life is in the blood.

Animal sacrifices with the spilling of blood, as commanded by that law, carried forward the sins of the people.

At the time of the Egyptian exodus, God instituted the Passover feast.

This feast used the blood of the lamb that they ate on the door posts of their homes. This blood let God know to pass over their house and not kill the first born of all that lived there.

Blood is a symbol of atonement or covering or payment.

When Jesus, who lived the Law of Moses perfectly, died on the cross, He became the Passover lamb for all of the sins of the world for all time.

His blood that was shed was acceptable to God for the atonement of all sin for all time, because of Jesus having lived the Law of Moses perfectly, was God's son and most importantly Jesus' faith that God would fulfill God's promise of the resurrection.

There is so much more to this in detail.

What we have in simplicity is this:

God wants a relationship with us.

    He can't because of sin.

He can if the sin is removed out of the way.

He does through the accepted blood sacrifice of Himself in His son, Jesus.

With our knowledgeable actions (faith) and His payment of grace (Jesus on the cross) we have a relationship with God. We become acceptable to Him.

Those who follow after Jesus in faithful living, will be rewarded with eternal life with God.

Those who refuse to follow are punished eternally. Sorry, that is what it says.

In short again, We are saved by His sacrifice, a sacrifice we can not give, that He freely gave.

  5. The wages of sins was death. Animals died, so now we are under the new covenant and Jesus died for our sins..so we do not have to sacrifice animals anymore and our penalty is paid by losing the innocent's life. Animals were innocent too, but the fisrts animal had to die for our sins after the fall

    Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice

  6. When Adam and Eve sinned there was no sacrifice great enough to pay for their sins, so God sent His only(begotten--one with God not lesser than God) son to sacrifice Himself for our sins.

  7. I dont get it either.  But if you do research you can find out that jesus was actually a myth, and never walked this earth.  Unless you count Jesus who works next door to me, clearing the debris from the neighbor's yard and doing landscaping.

  8. Because a certain blood needed to be spilled. That blood was the King Of The Jews. Once Jesus had died, he saved a lot of us from going to h**l as to be forgiven you had to kill an animal. But now you can be forgiven by just saying sorry. Thats how he is the saviour.

  9. In several ways ... all of them somewhat peculiar ... but all totally effective.

  10. As sinners, we deserve death but My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

died on that cruel cross in my place. Now I get to go to heaven simply

by putting my faith and trust in Him.It's God's plan of salvation for mankind.

    Wonderful isn't it.

  11. There is scant evidence for an 'historical jesus' or the crucifixion. There is absolutely no evidence for a 'divine jesus'. Even worse is the idea of just how fake the whole thing seems. If 'jesus' is 'god' as the 'christians' tell us, then he knew what was going to happen. Saying he died for 'our sins' is one thing, but then three days later he pops up and says 'fooled you, shame on me'.

  12. "Christ died for our sins. Dare we make his martyrdom meaningless by not committing them?" - Jules Feiffer

  13. I think it was all that blood that was released from his body that anointed the earth thus cleansing the world.

  14. Jesus the Christ took the Penalty, or Curse that each of us deserves for breaking God's law ( Galatians 3:13 ). Christ took our sins and stood as our Substitute on the cross.

  15. It isn't just His death that saved us. It is His death, burial and RESURRECTION.

His death was payment for the sin debt that each and every person HAS. No one can enter heaven with that sin debt unpaid for. Sin cannot enter heaven, so God in His wisdom and mercy  chose to pay it HIMSELF. "He who had no sin , became sin FOR us, that we could become the righteousness of God IN HIM."

His burial signifies that God actually DID something with the sins of yours that He died for. He put them OUT OF HIS SIGHT forever, based on what Christ did on the Cross.

He RESURRECTION was the PROOF that His sacrifice was acceptable payment in FULL. If one sin was left out, He would not and could not have risen from the dead.

He paid a price He did NOT owe, for we who owed a price we COULD NOT pay. That is called GRACE.

"God demonstrated His love for us , in that while we were yet sinners (He did NOT wait until we cleaned up our act), He died FOR us."

The Bible says that ALL have sinned: it tells us that God Himself became a man to pay for the sin DEBT; and that we all NEED what HE came to do for us to be RECONCILED to a HOLY GOD>

NOW, the question is, will you take God at His Word that HE provided but ONE way to be reconciled to Himself? Will you recognize what He did for YOU , personally and say, Thank you...I needed that!

That is the ONLY provision God has made for everyone to be able to go to heaven. It has NOTHING to do with their performance, but EVERYTHING to do with HIS performance on the Cross on YOUR behalf.

  16. Wow, critical thinking at work.  It was easier for me when I came to the conclusion that it was all a hoax thought up by crusty old men to control the slave population.

  17. He was the ultimate sacrifice to conquer death. We die because of sin. He died because of our sins BUT he rose again, conquering death and so if we believe Him, though we die, we will live with Him for eternity.

Edit: I wonder why any one would give me the thumbs down for sharing what I believe. Did Jesus do anything to offend you? He died for you, undeserving as you are. Be prepared to give an answer when your time is up.
