  1. hold on vernon, McCain was NOT A MARINE

i dont know the answer to your question

  2. probably nick names given by fellow marines. You will never know the real source or meaning, and they are given by friendly comrades.Besides, what does some handle mean today? You and I both had nick names in the past. I didn't keep mine long, twisted some noses.

  3. Songbird for providing information and signing war criminal confessions under the duress of North Vietnamese torturers.

Ace for killing 5 planes. The qualification for ace is five enemy kills. He did lose five planes (all his own) but one was definitely due to an enemy's ground-fired missile so that kill didn't belong to McCain; so, even as a joke, the "ace" nickname doesn't quite work.

Wet Start for an incident on the aircraft carrier U.S.S Forrestal. A catastrophic fire killed over 130 sailors and injured another 160. The official records say the fire was started when a missile misfired and hit a plane's fuel tank. Some people have claimed that McCain pulled a showoff stunt, pooling fuel in his engine to cause an impressive fireball upon launch and that this wet start ignited the next plane behind him.

I doubt the wet start claim. But I sure would like to see if McCain's Naval pilot aptitude scores were better than Bush's 25% in the TANG.

I'll bet my seventh house Admiral's Boy McCain didn't score better than 60%!

  4. Probably attacks from Obama supporters.  They know they can't compete on anything of substance, so they just make attacks.
