  1. The leg kicks early on won him the fight.  Forrest had better cardio and took some of the power and mobility away from Rampage.  I thought the only way he could win was to out-cardio Rampage, and that's kind of what he did.  He threw more shots and was more active.  Why couldn't Rampage deal with those leg kicks early on?  I don't know.  Doesn't make much sense.  Forrest needs to finish some people because no one wants to watch him pick at guys for 25 minutes every title defense.  That would just be bad.

  2. Rampage just could not overcome the reach advantage that Forest had.  Forest was also keeping him even more away with his leg kicks.  I think Rampage needs to work on his takedowns or at least should have tried to get inside of Forest.  Either way...a h**l of a fight and I cant wait for the rematch.

  3. whoa was this the fight not too long ago?

    **** i missed it

  4. I gave rounds 1 and 4 to Rampage. 2, 3, and 5 I gave to Griffin. You have to remember how the judges score fights.

Rounds are scored by Aggression, Take-Downs, Striking, and Submissions. I know that rounds 3 and 5 was close, but because Forrest was the one pushing the pace and taking the fight to Rampage, I gave Griffin both rounds.  I think that the leg kicks broke Jackson's will a bit too. If you looked at his face at the end of the 2nd, he didn't look like he wanted to be there any longer. Jackson, IMO, almost lost round 4. He didn't do damage from the top, got caught in a triangle, and Forrest was being aggresive with submission attempts from his back. The take down and a few punches was all that won that round for him. Heck, Griffin even countered his triangle slam attempt.

I'd love to see a more intense Jackson in a rematch. No matter what this was a good fight.

  5. Rampage waited for his opportunity to land a large blow... his biggest asset became his downfall.  While he waited for the opening, Forrest became the aggresor and won.

  6. Forrest just outworked him, and hurt his leg.

Rampage won the 1st round, due to knockdown with an uppercut, but it was close.  10-9 Rampage

2nd round was all Forrest, Rampage basically laid on his back, ate some elbows and minimized damage as much as possible,  I agree with a 10-8 score for the 2nd round to Forrest.

3rd round was Rampage, more aggressive, takedowns, better exchange, but still close, 10-9 Rampage.

4th round was close, but give the nod to Forrest for submission attempts and better exchanges. 10-9 Forrest

5th round was all Forrest, Rampage was trying, but couldnt connect with anything.  10-9 Forrest.

That's 48-46 Forrest.  I think the judges got it right and I don't get the controversy.  Even if you score round 2 10-9, I still think Griffin won 3 rounds and Rampage won 2 rounds.

Keep in mind, Forrest beat the last guy that beat Rampage in his last fight, and got screwed by the judges against Tito Ortiz.  Forrest didnt just beat Shogun Rua, he owned him, it was never close.

Rampage and Forrest are two of my favorite fighters, it was a good fight, I'm hoping for a rematch.

  7. I think it has to do with all the judges giving Forrest a10-8

round in the second, which they shouldnt have. Forrrest

did dominate the round but he didnt do enough damage to

merit a 10-8 round, you need dominance and damage. The third round was realy close and could have been scored either way. I had the fight a draw but then again I didnt have the judges point of view. Rampage shouldnt have left the fight

in the hands of the judges.

James you gave round 4 to Forrest for better exchanges!!!

I think we were watching different fights, all I remember of

the fourth was Rampage landing big shots and Forrest flailing around and running away.

Forrest landed one triangle after being taken down and almsot got powerbomed for it.

James you also gave Forrest a 10-8 for round 2 and I bet

you think Tito didnt have a 10-8 first round against Forrest to, yeah Forrest got robbed my give me a break. Tito's round 1 against Forrest is the definition of a 10-8 round, dominance and damage.

  8. Forrest just stayed busier than Rampage.  He landed very few shots but a slew that missed, but he was moving forward and controlling the pace.  rampage DEFINETLY did the most damage, but unfortunately the 10 point must system isn't extremely effective in MMA its geared more for 10 round+ fights to be accurate.  Rounds three I gave to Rampage as well as one and four but all it takes is for the judges to see it a little different.  This decision wasn't like the Hammil vs Bisping it was a close fight that could go either way.

A lot of folks are saying you have to take the belt from the champ and that just isn't true, its a philosophy but not in the rules.  Once the bell rings that belt belongs to no one and you are both fighting for it.  At the end of each round the scorecards are picked up and at the end of the fight you add up the points and the most points wins.  The only advantage the champ has is if it is ruled a draw he keeps the belt, other than that it is scored just like any other fight except for 5 rounds.  when your the champ you have to beat the challenger just as much as the challenger has to take the belt.

Close fight I score a draw which means a point in the other direction makes a win.  Rematch please

  9. in my opinion Forrest had some good kicks to the leg that made Rampage hobble a little, then Forrest took him down and hit a bunch, i think Forrest put his whole heart into that fight and that's why he won!! he didn't do a lot of trash talking like rampage did. it is a lot easier to take the belt that to defend it. i was SOO happy that Forrest won!!

  10. the judges look for whos more agressive really forrest kept comin foward alot more than rampage and he got alot of good kicks in plus he dominated the 2nd round forrest was really dominating the whole fight yeah rampage got alot of good hits but forrest really got his leg.

    im soo glad forrest won!
