After he raised the Soc. security rates he and every other President spent every last additional dime that was supposed to go into the fund. A pile of I.O.U.s is all we got. It was a tax hike - wasn't it?

  1. The social security surplus was not touched by Clinton.  When Bush became president he saw the social security surplus and said, "Free Money!"  And he spent it all.  But after that was gone, he couldn't stop.  He had to spend more but tax less  to keep the people happy.  And now we're borrowing $500 billion a year to balance the books.

  2. it sure seems like it

if both party's would of left the d**n fund alone it would of been ok

it needs to come back out of the general budget funds

  3. social security trust fund was just that a privet fund not to be touched by the government. However for LBJ to come up with money for all his pork barrel social programs he changed the law and stold the sos money. At this point the feds owe the fund over 2 trillion $$$$
