How did Rizal help attain the Filipinos freedom?

yeah i know he died for the country,wrote novels....and all.....

but

i'm just curious what else did he do to attain the Filipinos freedom???

  1. Rizal is someone who didn't believe in violence so he wrote two novels, El Filibusterismo and Noli me Tangere which is about the abuse of the Spanish to us Filipinos so that we could open our eyes and take action. He also established a group of Ilustrados (well educated filipinos) called La Solidaridad, it sought to make the Philippines a province of Spain so we could atleast get the same treatment as spaniards. Another group is the KKK which is a lot like La Solidaridad but it aims for Philippine Independence and it's not afraid to use brute force, it's leader Andres Bonifacio looks up to Rizal a lot but it was because of the KKK he was executed (he objected from having any part of it because he didn't believe in violence).


  2. Through his 2 famous novels, he opened the minds of the Filipinos to find FREEDOM.
