How did Scylla become a hideous monster?

I was reading the book mythology... and i didn't understand how she became a monster.

Can someone explain to me please.

It doesn't have to be long...

I just need a short explanation.

Glaucus loved her, but Circe admired Glaucus so she made a broth of poison herbs and poured it into the pool where Scylla bathed. The poisoned water made Scylla transform into a hideous monster. I'm assuming since you read about it you know who Glaucus and Circe are and what exactly Scylla transformed into.
