South Korea is a well-determined, well-fit, and a very well-balanced team when it comes to team spirit, unity and playing matches very seriously.

Korea has long had a healthy professional baseball league, not quite as strong as the Japanese but not too shabby either. Over the years interest in the sport has trickled down to the schoolboys and a lot of talent has emerged. Many secondary schools have a baseball program. Not a few Koreans get signed up in the US major leagues.

Sorry to say this, but it felt extra-satisfactory to see Cuba lose the baseball gold when a short time before their taekwondo bronze contestant got angry -- not even for justifiable reason -- and kicked the referee in the face.
