I have a router, adapter, modem, etc.

We use a DSL to connect, so connecting computers aren't limited.

I'd just like to know how YOU other people connected two computers to the same connection network.

reason- my sister got a new Compaq laptop but it won't connect to the internet. check out my other questions. there's similar questions.

  1. 1. Connect modem to phone line.

    2. Connect modem to router with network cable.

    3. Connect router to a computer with a network cable.

    4. Either connect another computer to router with network cable or turn on wireless card on computer and search for your wireless router (assuming it is wireless)

    5. Connect to wireless network and set up a profile.

    6. With no security set up, that is all there is to it.

  2. For broadband cable internet:

    Cable ->Modem->Wireless Router->PC(CAT5), XboX360(CAT5), another PC(Wireless Linksys USB adapter).

  3. We hooked up airport express to the dsl modem.

It sends the signal to 11 computers in 3 rooms.

Hooked up all 11 in 50 minutes.

    My ibm-lifer husband was stunned.

I smiled and said "that is how computers are supposed to work"

  4. hey!! hem hem... i know this is not the answer for this question but the other one was closed.... i found a way that works for me to login in myspace, i'm using this web... http://unblockcity.org/ , just type www.myspace.com in the URL... in dont like it at all, i cant see some stuff in the menu, but at least i would use it until i find a better solution, i hope this could work for you...

  5. I'm using a Linksys 4 port / wireless DSL router. My modem is set to gateway mode (contact your provider for support) and my router handles all the connection requirements (sign in, IP WAN lease / DHCP Management ect.)

Test all your connecting devices without any security at first, then bring security up to the desired level retesting your connected devices.

  6. hi :) you just leave the DSL plugged into one computer then you put a ethernet wire on the second computer and from th ecomputer you set it up to wireless and take out the ethernet wire
