John McCain is not necessarily a flaming liberal, but he is way too far left to be the Republican Party nominee.

I turned eighteen the year Ronald Reagan was inaugurated to serve his first term as President of the United States. Since that year, I have never voted for a Democrat for President.

If John McCain gets the Republican nomination for President, I will not cast a ballot for President at all in the 2008 election.

Voting for McCain would bring to an end my 26-year streak of "not voting for a Democrat"!

McCain is no liberal. He is Republican maverick in that he's rather be John McCain than a loyal Republican, but that hardly makes him a liberal.

He's a classical conservative, like his fellow Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater, who believed in a government that got out of all aspects of people's lives, not with exceptions for things that make the religious right upset.

I will grant that his support of campaign finance reform weakens his conservative credntials, but it hardly makes him a flaming liberal.

What's sad is that even though you don't support his stands on policies, that you would not respect his status as a decorated Vietnam veteran who was a Prisoner of War.  I'm not a republican or a democrat...I consider myself a split-ticket voter.

McCain has a lifetime rating of 82.3 by the American Conservative Union and a 10 by the ADA; hardly strong liberal credentials.
