How did a snake get in my laundry room? and should i be aware of more?

Oh my gosh,

that is honestly my worst nightmare.

If you have children, make sure they're shutting the doors.

It sounds stupid, but for some reason my stepbrother always left it open.. He's from california where they don't have many mosquitos so he didn't know better I suppose..

haven't figured out how I got an 'possum in my apt. but I did.

If you have a crawl space under the house or laundry room, open areas around any pipes, hole in siding. Snakes can get in just about anywhere. We use to live in house that had a garage below the house. The walls were more or less dirt. A snake came in through garage and up the dirt area and through gap around pipes (kitchen sink). I would have the house checked out. Plug any gaps. It could have gotten in any number of ways.

Is your laundry room near one of the doors leading in or outside? I'd make sure there aren't holes or cracks in the room. Depending on the size of the snake it could've been in your clothes. I'd try and get someone who handles snakes to come to your house or tell you about the stuff they can get into. At least they'd know much more about it than I would. Good luck and hopefully that doesn't happen to you again!
