  1. someone( a teacher , prob) asked you this to get you to think for yourself about it,  you should read the book, and see for yourself if you even think she did at all.  it was an interesting story, honestly, do i think she made the world a better place? well since i read it and you didn't i think that is the only way she can make the world a better place is by teaching a READER of her diary things about life, like patience, hope, courage, unselfishness and how to feel compassion for others suffering.  if you don't read the book and see the way she lived her life, then you'll never really know.


  2. She was an inspiring young girl during the Holocaust. She and her family had to hide in a closet for very long periods of time. She also wrote a diary about what her life was like and it is published and available. She made the world a better place by showing courage and patience in her lifetime. Adolf Hitler was the main person that started the "No Jews" campaign and the Holocaust.

She has become an emblem of world war II, proving that Jews were not what they were steryotyped to be. She was just like any other girl--quite brilliant, if anything. She lived and died yet lives on. The haulocost really did happen. Writings like hers prove it. She has shared what it was like to live during that time. She is one in 6 million, but left a legacy-her diary-behind so that she and the others who lived and died will never be forgotton.

  6. It sounds as though your teacher told you that that was the case without telling you why - leaving you to find out for yourself by reading her diary.

    No matter how sad the poor innocent's story is, it did not make the world a better place.  I doubt that more than a handful of people in Asia have ever heard of her, and Asia is as much a part of the world as the rest of it.

    We did not need the Diary to tell us what happened in Europe in the late 30's and 40's.

    Anne gave something to the world as every one does who sincerely writes down their thoughts or experiences - but no more than that.

    Always be aware that English and some other teachers can be passing along their political biases as well as valid knowledge. This last thought is what I wanted to pass along to you by answering this question.
