Question:

How did bees get in my house?

It all started a couple weeks ago when I got stung by a bee in my bed, which I thought was strange, but I quickly decided to forget about it. But just today, when I got behind my computer to plug in a new keyboard, I found at least a couple hundred bees dead on the floor in my room. I can see how a bee or two would get into my house through a door or something, but how would that many get in my house, we don't open windows, we don't keep doors open, and there aren't any holes in the house, that I am aware of.

  1. Check the vent above the stove in your kitchen...that's how 5 bees got into my house.  I finally put duct tape around the opening in the vent after I heard them in there.

  2. maybe there is a bee nest in your house

  3. They might have built a nest in between your walls

  4. YOU smell like flowers...can I smell you???

  5. They flew in initially, mated, and now you have their history.

  6. close the windows....you see...when you leave your windows open during sunshine bees are atracted to the sweet smelling aroma of your home...so just rememba what the great peter bates said ''to close your windows and legs at all times leads to a greater future''...peace out!

  7. well the hive could be in your house and they may be killer bees or you could have brought some in by mistake

  8. call an exterminator right away

  9. I think that you do keep the doors open.

  10. u have an attic or crawl space thats were most openings are and how most critters get in!

  11. i did it! and i also put a hidden camera in your bathroom mirror! i watched when you and your sister had s*x in there.

  12. maybe you have a bee hive

  13. get a dude wit big guns and shoot those suckers

  14. ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..like....uhhhhhhhhhhh bees......have like....WINGS...and stuff.

    so yeah. and stuff

  15. There's possibly a beehive somewhere in your house. Hire a bug exterminator. I have them spray my house monthly.

  16. Bees can squeeze themselves into some pretty small places, including the eves of the house, vents, chimney, holes where plumbing and wires enter. No house is really "air tight". Check your attic. For you to find hundreds of dead bees, that means there are thousands. Call an exterminator.

  17. There might be a whole in your house.  Or they could of gotten into your attic.  Search around your house.  Alot!

  18. are they Carpenter bees sometimes they eat wood and lay eggs in your walls

  19. An established honey bee colony will sometimes divide itself, and one or more swarms will leave the hive. The new swarm may cluster for a while on a tree limb or bush near the old hive while scout bees search for a suitable place to establish a new home. Usually scout bees find a hollow tree, but occasionally they will choose the wall voids of a home. Unfortunately, bees may nest in the wall or attic some distance from where they enter the wall.

Carbaryl (Sevin) 5 percent Dust is an insecticide registered to exterminate bees from dwellings. If it is not applied properly, persistent efforts may be needed to finally accomplish the job. Sevin dusted into the bee entrance may not reach the nest, which may be some distance from the entrance. Foraging bees passing through the dusted area will be killed, but the queen and house bees that stay home to take care of brood and tend to the nest may continue to live for some time. When house bees (young bees that remain in the hive) mature to take on field work chores, the colony may recover, unless the insecticide treatment is reapplied. Quicker and surer results will be received if the nest itself is treated.

The nest can be located sometimes by tapping the wall with a hammer and listening for an answering buzz from the bees. When the nest is located, a hole may be bored, preferably through the outside wall, so insecticide can be applied onto the nest.

  20. check the atick or basement

  21. It's either holes, or through vents. If you have a fireplace, they can fit through that.

The reason for them being by the computer is the heat it produces (for one), also bee's are attracted to certain colors (red, yellow, etc.) and electronics (due to a pulse they give out.)

  22. its an invasion! your being attacked there going to kill you!!!!!! RUN RUN!!!

  23. Sounds like they made  a hive somewhere. I would call an exterminator and get it checked out, they must have gotten in somewhere and if you can't see a nest it may be in the walls.

  24. Well there must be a hole somewhere because bees don't magically appear.  I really have no idea how they would have gotten in without some sort of hole somewhere.  It is strange that they are all in one area....maybe you have a small opening on the floor of your room or in the wall that's barely noticable....
