How did colonist thinking change bewtween 1765- 1775?

  1. Not sure how, but I can offer a possible reason why. The crushing of the Jacobite rebellion in Scotland in 1746 at Culloden by the english was brutal and had far reaching implications for Scotland. Many colonists from Ireland and Scotland may have come to America to escape the english tyranny, the attempted removal of the gaelic language, the banning of traditional dress and musical instruments etc. Seeing potentially the same kind of thing happening again at the hands of the english it&#039;s not really surprising they took up arms around this time. Just my theory though.

  3. There was a lot of unrest and worrying. They didn&#039;t know what they should do, and some turned to drugs and alcohol to drown their pain. However, because of lax liquor codes, this led to massive amounts of people drinking bad batches of moonshine and going blind
