Did commercial airliners use to dump on-board waste mid-flight or has it always been stored for disposal after landing?

  1. "Hey buddy, what do you do for a living?"  "Me? I pump $hit out of jets..."

  2. Stored, then emptied after landing by a waste containment truck.

  3. they haven't allowed in flight dumping for years...thank goodness. they pump it out like a rv , bus, train, potta potty , ect .....you hear something  about  flight p**p ice....but that is only when the pump out valve isn't shut, or not closed proper, or broke

  4. Stored for disposal after landing.

  5. Aircraft have a potable water tank and a waste tank, the former contains drinkable water and the latter waste. Every aircraft prior to first flight of the day is serviced with potable water and the septic tank emptied or flushed (aircraft that contains p**s has a smell in the morning if it is not properly flushed). During landing, it is part of the host country to service the aircraft this means water is filled-up, waste is drained cargo is unloaded and new cargo reloaded. Even fuelling of the aircraft is part of the ground handling which is usually contracted by the host country.

  6. I don't have any solid evidence (get it?) but I would find it hard to believe that the airplanes that had toilets "back then" did anything but store the waste so it could be removed at the gate.

I would like to see pictures or equivalent of "overboard dumping".

Of course the earliest passenger airplanes did not have toilets. I would guess the earlies toilets appeared in the early 1930s.

  7. they usually dump it over texas
