  1. severe head trauma, his neck was broken...RIP

  2. The force of the impact from the crash snapped his neck, causing severe trauma to his head.

  3. He hit the concrete wall head on at 180+, that's what killed him.

    Severe facial/head trauma.

  4. He was going into that wall at about 185 and he wasnt using the HANS device. here;s the injuries from the autotopsy:

The official cause of Earnhardt's death in the medical examiners autopsy report was listed as "blunt force injuries of the head". It noted, among other things, that Earnhardt sustained:[6]

    Basilar skull fracture (fatal)

Eight broken ribs on his left side

    Broken left ankle

    Fractured breast bone

Collarbone and hip abrasions (indication seat belts didn't fail

  5. broken neck

  6. R.I.P. Dale Earnhardt Sr.

  7. I read that he didn't have the neck protector on, and that his head went side to side so hard it broke his neck.

  8. From the initial impact, he crashed head-on into the retaining wall. His helmet was open faced, so with the secondary impact, his chin hit the steering wheel with such force, his head became detached from his vertebrae and spinal cord, causing death.

  9. Sr. told Jr. to wear his hans device before the race...SR didn,t follow his own instructions!!!!He broke his neck...

    R.I.P.3

  10. Dale's car was turned into the outside wall, and he ran into it with a lot of speed. So he died from a head on collision with the wall, not from being hit by another car.

The crash did not look that bad compared to other crashes, but all of the energy went into the wall.

  11. ask any race car driver even down to the little guys at your local dirt track and they will tell ya they would rather roll their car to dissipate the energy slowly than hit a wall and stop instantly, hitting the wall hurts alot worse than rolling although the rolls usually look alot cooler

  12. when he hit the outside wall  he went from 200mph to 0 mph in a secound which snapped his neck

  13. He got hit by the M&Ms car I bet it was Kyle Buschs fault!!
