How did dantes feel when he found out albert was his son??

  1. Albert was never his son -- he thought of him as the son he and Mercedes SHOULD have had, but it was very clear that he was the biological son of Fernand Mondego and Mercedes.  The movie may have suggested such a thing, but in the book, there was never any question of Albert being Dantes' son.  At the end of Dantes' revenge on Mondego in the book, Mercedes and Albert leave town fter Mondego's suicide, out of shame and humiliation. Mercedes and Dantes meet later, but it isn't the "love conquers all" that you get in the movies -- Mercedes is more regretful and resigned to her fate, and Dante does not end up with her.
