emma watson got the part when she was 9 years old. she was in school plays at her school. the director of the harry potter and the philosopher's stone went to her school and said to recommend the best actors and actresses you have.one of emma watson's teachers recommended her and each student that got recommended for auditions got an agent. they took them to the audition and had to say the lines of the character they wanted to play. then in a week they would be called if they got the part. emma watson was called and was asked to come to the studio. then she figured out that she got the part of hermione granger. she got the part becasue she was good at acting and looked like hermione should look.
