  1. The most popular flapper dances were the Charleston and the Black Bottom.  You can find examples of both of these on YouTube.

It would be very hard to find a flapper dress locally, unless you went to a costume shop, and a dress there might not be very authentic.  A flapper dress had a very low waistline and the skirt length was to just below the knees.  It had a loose, boyish looking hang to it, not hugging any curves.

To look really authentic, don't forget wear thigh-high stockings, and roll them down around the knees!  I don't know if this will work with today's flimsy panty hose :-( but good luck!  Ask me for more tips if you like.

  2. They where called flappers ,, because of the way they moved their arms when they danced ,,    catch an old silent movie called "Our Dancing Daughter's"  starring a very young Joan Crawford...    You could probably find a flapper dress at any costume , vintage ,or antique shop.....

  3. we learned bout flappers in school! Just get a small dress, colourful maybe. have short hair or maybe put it up to make it short or something. They danced i guess seductively! ;)
