  1. they painted fake caves on the sides of mountains and would eat whatever ran into it at incredible speeds....

    also...

i think there was some kind of box with a carrot under it, you prop up one end of the box with a stick (hopefully some sort of "Y" shape) tie a vine to the stick and then wait for the unsuspecting prey to go for the carrot...

  2. Snares & dead falls, using the figure 4 trigger (made from 3 sticks & triggered by a rope made from fibers;) pits covered with branches; rockfalls where they simply pulled out a log holding up a landslide. They also used fire to drive them over cliffs. Humans were making rope prior to the last ice age by twisting grass or bark fibers together. Humans often set traps on game trails leading to water holes.

Most peope fail to take into account that ancient Homo sapien had all the reasoning/cognitive powers of modern humans & they passed the learned skills down to their offspring. They improved on them when they found something that worked better.

  3. Okay, a local visit to your natural history museum may be in order.

Anyway, if it'll help... It is believed that humans weren't necessarily first hunters.  They were first scavengers taking fresh carcasses as an extra protein source.  Humans are also excellent walkers (basicly you can say it's what we are built for).  We cannot run as fast as a horse, but we can walk and follow it until it's exhausted and we've hardly used any energy.

The most common evidence in the fossil record is of stone cutting tools.  If you do a little research on that, you may be able to find your answer.

  4. The only one I can think of is the hole in the ground thing. They made a hole deep enough to trap the animal into the ground and covered it with brush. They put bait on top of it and when the animal walked on top of the brush to get the food, they fell in and could not get back out.
