  1. Music (JAZZ) transcends barriers. For decades it has been a force for change. During the Vietnam war, bands and singers expressed their feelings through their music and gave voice to an entire generation. The movie Hairspray is fiction, but it gives you an idea  of how music can bring change. If people are moved by the music, they will seek it out. Issues surrounding the music (race, age, etc.) will become secondary over time.


  2. white people came into black clubs to hear the great music.

    some could see the true artistry, the talent involved in jazz, and started presenting jazz on 'white" radio and later, tv.
