  1. She didn't. In terms of world history she was quite unimportant.

    She changed Scotland by failing so dismally as a Catholic ruler that her people booted her out in favour of her infant son; this led to a long minority when the kingdom was controlled by extreme Protestant peers, which allowed Calvinism to become permanently entrenched in Scottish society.

    England had just as many Calvinists at the time, but the moderate Elizabeth I's success as a strong ruler prevented them imposing their beliefs on the country.


  2. I agree with the 1st post.  She was an embarrassment to the Tudors and a threat with her attempts to assassinate Elizabeth I.

  3. Well, she taught us a very important lesson: Karma comes back around.

    She planned to kill Queen Elizabeth I (her cousin, by the way), and when this was found out, Elizabeth had her beheaded.

    Hate to be in that family...
