How did my computer get a P.U.P. called Adware-Websearch? What should I do now?

I have Mcafee and one day a message appeared saying it discovered this PUP. I had Mcafee remove it but I am still a little hesitant. I pay bills online and don't want to sacrafice my security.

How did I get it?

Is it really gone?

Is having a Mcafee security suite enough?

Is my security compramised

P.U.P.= potentially unwanted program, so find out if you want the program uninstall it. Your security should be intact
