Question:

How did my daughter call overseas? Funny story I think?

My Baby is about to turn 1 in 6 days, I received my phone bill yesterday there was about 7 calls that I didn't do. About 2 weeks ago, I called my cousin who is overseas just 1 call but on my bill it shows there was 7 more to the same number and each call it was just for 1 minute or so.

First I thought there was a mistake about it but they made sure there wasn't, I called my cousin to ask her if she received calls that day she informed me there was few messages that were left on her answering machine but without any message left.

There was only me and my daughter at home that day, and around that time she started crawling.

Could she have probably hit the redial button many times? do you think this is possible?

I don't think there is any other explanation for it. My daughter always wanted to play with the phone but I never let her, I probably left it by mistake on the couch that day. LOL LOL.

Do you have a funny story?

  2. My kids call the states all the time.. usually in the middle of the night to their grandmother or my grandmother....

I live in Japan at the moment....

they are 1 and 3.... they hit redial or somehow push their way into the phone book...

  3. haha, yep... that's a good one.

Um, I have a nephew, Mason, (age 2) and he had gotten my sister's cell phone. They thought they had locked the keys, but nope- I got a call from the lil one. I "talked to him" for a good three minutes. Couldn't understand a word of it until my brother in law takes the phone from him and realizes he was actually talking to someone. They thought he was playing.

My name is Victoria... I always get phone calls from people's pockets because V is usually the last one on the list and it's easy to accedetly call me! haha

  4. awww..that would be a good story to tell her when shes grown up..lol..

  5. lol. When my eldest was 14 months, he got hold of my husbands old mobile. I didn't think much of it, as it didn't have a sim card in. BIG MISTAKE! About an hour later, i had the police at my door asking about a phone call to emergency services. Turns out my precious bundle of joy had dialed 999, gurgled down the phone for a while, then left it on the floor. Luckily the police were very understanding and even had a bit of a chuckle about it. I now always make sure i take the battery's out of any phones i don't use

  6. When my cousin was about 2, we found him on the phone chatting away. When my aunty got on the phone, she discovered it was my cousin's uncle (from his father's side). It was a local call but no-one could work out how it had happened... there was no speed dial set and noone had called him recently so it couldn't have been redial.... and my cousin had made the call not the other way around. So it seems he just managed to randomly pick the right numbers!!!

So if my cousin managed that, I would guess your daughter probably managed to find the redial button. Once she discovered it did something, she probably wanted to keep doing it... it's amazing what kids figure out!

  7. My friends lil boy calls me every so often when he gets ahold of the phone... just by holding the 3... it speed dials my #.... Fortunately, we are local!  LOL
