I really think o****m is a happy accident of evolution. I think even without o****m, folks would still have s*x. s*x is still pleasurable without o****m. And o****m (or the explosive feeling that accompanies ejaculation) is not necessary for biological fitness.

Since most animals copulate to reproduce and not for pleasure, I am not certain the o****m would be a mechanism to encourage reproduction. I think we all just lucked out.

Well i don't know offcially, but i would think that experiencing pleasure during copulation would be a trait that would replicate many times in a gene pool because those who possess the ability to have an o****m would mate more due to pleasure.
