  1. They made due with very little and learned to enjoy what they had. My grandmother still saved water and if baloney turned green she fried it instead of throwing it out. She never bought anything she didnt have cash for and if she couldnt afford it she didnt have it. We should all take a lesson on this. We all think we have to have the good life RIGHT NOW no matter what it costs. COme to think of it, she never threw anything away if it MIGHT have a use. You cant believe the stuff I cleaned out of that house when I moved into it. Most of it was jusnk but she saw potential

  2. Hmmm....getting a wee bit concerned about how your going to keep up with the maid service? Nooooo, of course not! This is for a high school "thingy", right? Nothing out there right now is going to help with what's coming. For it will be a DEPRESSION like no other. Everything, everything, eveything will be gone, wiped out ....erased. There will be no way to even pay for a breathe of fresh air. Not to be an alarmist or anything, but a million dollars for one piece of bread will be normal in those times.

  3. I think people during the Great Depression where more self sufficient.prayed more,  They grew their own food canned, sewed their own clothes, chopped wood to keep warm and had horses that could feed off the land.so they did not have to worry about gas for cars.

My Grandparents told us about it when I was a kid.  They where very frugal with $  the rest of their lives because of what they went through..

I think most of us modern people probably would not know what to do.

Just for a safeguard I currently have a mini orchard planted it this year. Peaches, blackberries, and apples, I grow my own veggies and I freeze food from the garden. I can sew as well.

  4. I was there. There was enough to eat, although meager. We patched clothes and walked a lot. I had a lot of fun as a kid, but not at an amusement park.
