  1. A living saint?  First we would need to know your definition of the word "saint."  The Roman Catholic Church has a particular definition that includes performance of verifiable miracles.  If you are using the Catholic Church's definition of the word "saint," then there is no way at all that Diana could ever be considered.

If you wish to use some other definition, please do, but you'll have to tell us what your criteria are for determining sainthood.

Diana was a humanitarian who touched - literally - many people who otherwise were disenfranchised and ignored.  She brought worldwide attention to AIDS and to landmines.  She was, by all reports, a wonderful mother to her sons.

On the other side of the coin, she was manipulative and she committed adultery.

Saint?  No, not unless you wish to redefine the term.

  2. she helped ppl with her princess advantages instead of buying a diamond necklace.

  3. Media attention, they can make or break you. They didn't agree with charlie's antics at the time.

  4. Diana made the most of her situation.  She flashed her eyelashes at any passing camera when it suited her, and shouted evasion of privacy whenever it didn't.  She slept about and claimed she was the victim. She was used by the royals as a womb and she was too stupid to realise it. Charles had always loved Camilla, and Diana knew that from the start.  Diana was well paid for her job but craved sympathy too...which she got from the masses.

Its a shame when anyone dies but people should get over it when that someone wouldn't have looked twice at them, unless they are a good looking, wealthy, married man.

  5. I really hope you are joking.

  6. 3

  7. Are you serious? The woman had the morals of an alley cat. A saint indeed!

  8. She acted like a w***e, and everybody know how Jesus felt about those.

  9. She shagged any man that moved - now if that's not saintly nothing is.

Thanks for all the points I'll get knocked off - it was worth it :-)

  10. Oh please, just let the woman alone. She is dead, she cannot defend herself, even if there was something to defend against. How would you like it if it was your mothers memory that people were pulling to bits, every week. Why not just let her be.It is not funny and it is not news.

Edit......Just what, have her detractors done?Have they worked with AIDS sufferers?Did they campaign against the use of landmines?Did they belong to many other charities concerned with the health and welfare of children? So,she wasn't a saint but,I would prefer a world, populated by people of similar good intentions and with the flaws that she had, than by the people who are now so quick to point out her failings that are so common in the rest of humanity.

  11. A Saint shagging anything who moves. That's a godly thing to do, no ?

  12. To be a saint I you have to perform a number of miracles Diana did not do this, she was a good person not a saint. There are many good even better people out there who have done far more than she has and have received little credit.

  13. Calling her a living saint was an exaggeration of sorts. Diana was a humanitarian who visited the sick and dying. She gave the patients comfort. In one of the many books I read, she was extolled for putting her personal comfort aside to sit, hold hands, wipe the brows,of the very ill-even those who were considered pariahs because of the types of illnesses they had- AIDS and Leprosy.

When her then-husband,Charles,was hospitalized with a badly broken arm,Diana would visit other patients in the same hospital. And Diana would take a personal interest in many patients, calling them and visiting them in their homes;patients even asked her to sit with them during medical consultations,so that someone(meaning Diana) would have a clear head and be able to explain what was said at a later time.

  14. By DYING in an tragic accident / MI6 hit job .

Just as the media and general public were getting wise her attention seeking, publicity whoring , oh woe is me "3 of us in this marriage blah blah " ways.

  15. She didn't. And she was as keen on diamond necklaces, fancy frocks and royal titles as any girl could be. (Why do you think she wanted to marry Charles? She never loved him: she wanted to be a Queen.)

  16. Besides all of her charities, which she carried on with after the Di-vorce,  she didn't kill Charles (aka Alfred E. Newman) in his sleep.  That in my book qualifies her as a saint.

  17. She Helped Alot Of People She Campaigned Against Land Mines For Example.

  18. she was a good person, but i would dare not say a saint, none are worthy of that title anymore

  19. I was under the impression that it required two miracles to be considered for sainthood.  I'm only aware of one miracle that she performed.

Despite being born into a Noble family, she convinced the entire world, including the British people that knew her, that she was a Commoner. I guess trashing around with wealthy Arab royalty might have helped.

She's not living anymore, either, so she hardly could be a living saint.  Unless you know something I don't about that, in which case it would probably qualify as her second miracle.
