When humanity was born wasn't there only 1 race (the homosapiens)? How did races develop?

  1. Race came to be when researchers from one cultural heritage and general geographic area set out to quantify how their people were different from all the other peoples of the world. Oddly enough, these researchers came up with a classification system that proved they were superior to all the other peoples of the world. Amazing!

The different peoples of the world are different because of geographical isolation over long periods of time, from 10,000 to 100,000 years or so, depending on what groups we are talking about. Differing conditions in different parts of the world led to different adaptations in different populations. These differences are rather minor and superficial, as humans are universally more similar than they are different.

So the short answer is that people got separated from each other, and adapted differently to face the different challenges they then faced.

  2. By migrating to remote areas of the earth, which have different climates, and becoming adapted to these different regions!
