  1. Think about it..thats too easy.

  2. it helped bring the west and the east together a lot faster, and brought progress to a lot of places that other wise would still be in the dark ages,it also brought prosperity to many people because it let them move more goods they used for trade,a lot faster, its hard to imagine probably where we would be without the rail road system,it was the first known means of being able to move large loads and lots of merchandise real cheap, and still remains one of the cheapest ways to move large amounts of products, and it also brought people together and let them see different parts of the world that other wise they may have never seen, even today we rely on the rail system more than we think, and we always will,it still continues to deliver products that would be too large to be shipped or otherwise sent to other places, its a vital part of our survival, good luck.

  3. sounds like a school question to me

  4. Well.... did you know where Time Zones came from?  You'd imagine that the Congress set these up so people would know what time it was.

Nope - the Congress wouldn't ever deal with it - they're too busy stealing money.  It was the railroads who created the Time Zones so that their big steam engines wouldn't bump into each other as they ran back and forth across the country.  Now Congress thinks they invented Time Zones, but they didn't.

  5. I believe you need to rephrase that question and get more specific.

  6. Railroads literally made settling the wilderness possible.

Farmers in Kansas could move sell their wheat where the wheat eaters lived.

A rancher in Texas could sell his cattle in Chicago.

People did not have to move what few possessions they could fit into an oxcart and take most of a year to move, they could load up their entire possessions and move wherever thjey wanted.

Sawmills in California could open because they could get equipment and then they coujld sell their product.

People living in the west could go to colleges in the east and with their education could make a better life where they came from.

There is not enough room in this forum to describe the benefits of the railroads in the late 1800's. Books have been written.

  7. The railroads built America.  Nothing less.

That America can run at all, is because the railroads are there.
