  1. I could be wrong but I once heard that soccer was the sport that most guys played years ago, you are not allowed to touch the ball, right, well one day, one guy while playing soccer got frustrated and picked up the ball and ran with it to the goal..........


  2. You have two stories.

    The first being that William Webb Ellis picked up the ball one day and ran towards the goal line while his team mates tried to tackle him.

    The second being, it was not William Webb Ellis.

    There are a few web sites with this information, and I will leave it up to you to decide whether Mr William Webb Ellis did or did not actually start the game of rugby.

    I have also thrown in an article thats talks about the start of Rugby League, as it states when Rugby Union started.
