How did street sense do today?

I'm not really sure why Carl put him in this race knowing Street Sense doesnt like the polytrack. Knowing Hard Spun was gonna win this race. I'm a HUGE Street Sense fan, but I knew going into this to leave my money in my pocket. On to the Breeders Cup!!!

He came in second to Hard Spun by 1 1/4 quarter lengths. I knew Street Sense would have a hard time on the Polytrack. Hard Spun was the better horse today and the credit goes to Hard Spun. He ran a great race! Even though I was rooting for Street Sense, take nothing away from the winner!

I think he did great. He came in second, but had plenty left in the tank for the Classic.

Still, it was irritating to see Hard Spun's owner and that stupid little bow tie in the winners circle. I'm almost wishing Stream Cat would have upset the field.

yes, Street Sense lost by daylight today.  He was kinda forced to play Hard Spun's game...  with only 4 horses in the race, 2 of which weren't competitors, the Street Sense camp had to treat the race as a match race.  Hard Spun is used to going to the lead and setting pretty fast factions.  Street Sense likes to close, but today he couldn't let Hard Spun out alone on the lead for fear of not catching him, so Street Sense had to stalk so he didn't have that strong closing kick in the stretch.

I still think Street Sense is the better horse (even Man O War lost to Upset once, and Secretariat to Onion), but I'm glad Hard Spun got to beat him today...  Hard Spun had the advantage today with the Polytrack and with it being 4 weeks before the Breeders (Street Sense wasn't going to go all out today... he's too concerned with the BC classic).  And this makes the Breeders much more interesting!! :o)
