  1. because zebras play this sort of game with teir young ones ,,, although not so advanced ,, just a premature version

  3. When you say "striped" I presume you actually mean "hooped"...there are almost no rugby clubs who wear vertical stripes (or at least I cant think of any!)

    The game started largely in English private schools, where the horizontal hooped style of shirt was traditional. It has simply continued down the decades, and is now a common design for rugby shirts, although less so in soccer.
