  1. Television coverage changed cricket by marketing gentlemen game as war more on this in source

  2. It changed it tremendously, for now we see & hear every single thing that happens on the field, & this leads to a lot of mis-understanding & misrepresentation from viewers. Just look at the recent kerfuffle on this section over the recent India V Australia series. Things that have always happened in cricket are suddenly being used to cause international  incidents & racial tension. I have always accepted that these things happen, but apparently younger people today can't handle it.They should look back to the past & take a reality check.

  3. it increases the number of spectators. I am also one person who was attracted to cricket by the TV. Now it makes me go to the match and watch it live in the pavilion.

  4. It has created immense impact and attraction in masses

  5. it thriverin the increasind population of cricket!

  6. Its made competitions such as the IPL possible! It allows cricketers to reach a world wide audience and it allows fans to enjoy cricket from all accross the world. Without the money from TV sponsorship rights cricket would be very much poorer.

TV coverage has also added new elements to our game usch as hawk eye and snick-o-meter. Not to mention the Third umpire which is assumed as standard for all international fixtures. This alone has seen many decisions reached which would not be possible without TV!

  7. It is good for cricket. Because not every one can afford to go to watch live cricket in stadium.

  8. It made cricket more popular.

  9. It expanded the audience for the game by beaming cricket into small towns and villages. It also broadened cricket's social base.Children who had never previously had the chance to watch international cricket could now watch and learn by imitating their heroes.

The technology of satellite television and the world wide reach of multi-national television companies created a global market for cricket.

Continuous T.V coverage also made cricketers celebrities.

Cricket boards also became rich by selling television rights to television companies.
