How did the Great compromise please both small and large states??

  1. The Great Compromise is also known as the Connecticut Compromise.

    Here's the wiki article:

    But bascially, the Virginia plan wanted a Legislature (based on population) which favored large states. Then there was the New Jersey plan that wanted a Senate (2 delegates per state) which favored the small states.

    So the connecticut compromise combined these two plans and created a bicameral Congress.
