  1. After the July 31st trading deadline, you can technically, still trade players. The 7/31 deadline is the non-waiver deadline. After that, you can place a player you wish to trade onto waivers. its a lot like designating someone for assignment, but you trade them not release them. So the nationals places Lo Duca on waivers and once they did they have 10 days for another team to pick him up, and after the marlins contacted the nationals, they have 2 days to negotiate a deal before they must re-place him on waivers.

But like any player, if its in thier contract, they can block the trade to remain on the team. Brian Giles of the Padres did this 2 weeks ago blocking a trade to Boston.

  2. the nationals released him and the marlins then sign him to a minor league deal

  3. Hard to figure that one. All I can think of is that the Dodgers found out about his use of steroids and got rid of him, he has admitted that he did.

  4. They blackmailed him.

  5. the fish claimed him

  6. The Dogers Traded him:

    Stupid Trade for the Dodgers

  7. The Washington Nationals let him go as a free agent and the Florida Marlins signed him to a minor league deal.

  8. It's Lo Duca, and he was designated for assignment by the Nationals.  He did not accept that assignment, and signed a minor league deal with the Marlins.
