This # called me this morning 703 547 6545 Its a washington DC, Northern VA #, and I have family there so I thought it was a family member when I called, it was a recording saying that if this number calls you again do not provide them w/ any credit card info, that they are a legit company but they do not make any outbounds calls, solicit or do any type of telemarketing. Its a "SPOOF" call where the scammer calls from another country but it comes up on ur caller id as something else. How do I remove my number from the scammers list?

  1. alot of them buy lists, you'd be suprised where your information goes after you fill out a form on the internet...

just think of all the websites you've been to where you've input your phone number.

  2. From the phone book, maybe.  Get on the do not call list the government set up, then if they call again, you can report them.

  3. tell them if they call again you will sue them and if they call make a police report and tell them someone is harassing you

  4. How do you know that the person that called you from that number is a Nigerian calling you using 703-547-6545 as a spoofed number?

Granted, you could be right as I currently bait Nigerian scam artists and they have on occasion tried to call me using blocked or spoofed number.  But if the company that owns that number is already in the know, more than likely it is probably a telemarketer trying to cover their tracks.

Putting your number on a do-not-call list, while good, will probably not solve calls with spoofed numbers.  Once you're on the list, legitimate telemarketers will not call but the more sleazier ones who spoof caller ID numbers/names will probably still keep calling knowing that the average person will be powerless in tracking them down.

Anyhow, next time they call may I suggest you keep a whistle near your phone so that when they start to speak you can give them a REALLY good jolt with a loud whistle blow? :-)

  5. maybe someone you know gave it to them as a joke or they don't like you

  6. Wow thats crazy....those people are scammersssssssssssss and they get away with it... those people are rich out there

  7. This website will help you stop getting unsolicited calls.  I've used it and it worked.

Also, here is a link to a site where a lot of other people have posted about the number you mentioned:
