How pathetic is that? All pro players on the team, and all Puerto Rico had was Carlos Arroyo. Puerto Rico is still technically the United States, yet they managed to still put a team in the 1980 Olympics.

  1. The answer: Allen Iverson and Stephon Marbury at the backcourt. Those two guys are not your typical pass-first PG. They like to score and didn't do a good job in executing the U.S. offense.

  2. No Chemistry! Too much 1 on 1 playing and missing Kobe

  3. they lost for a few different reasons.. first, they came in with a big head and thought they could just show up and beat anyone..they also had a lot of disharmony on the team between the players themselves and against their coach.. they also had no leader to step up when times are rough and rally the troops.. the last reason is carlos arroyo, this guy played tremendoulsy and got to the rim at will against the us team..

  4. The Team With The Most Points At The End Of Game Wins Doesn't Matter Who It Is

  5. 2 reasons they lost, 1 is they didn't have the best player in the Game today Kobe Bryant and 2 they didn't play team basketball, cuz LeBron is good but he couldn't do it all by himself.

  6. Selfish, "me-first" basketball ... American Basketball players would rather look good and lose than look bad and win.

Basketball's a team game, and lesser athletes who play better team basketball will always beat a more talented group of individuals.
