How did the Yukon goldrush during 1897 affect the setting in the book The Call of the Wild? thanks

  1. Well, I'm drawing a blank for Buck's owner's name, but he and his dog set out in search of gold.  I suppose the goldrush helped the book to move along.  Because Buck's master sought gold, he traveled to the mines.  Here, they encountered the Indians and wild dogs that Buck eventually joined.  That would be my thinking for the question.  Good luck.
