How did the american and french revolution affect the colonists of the americas?

  1. I assume you mean like in Central and South America....The success of the American Revolution to through off the British monarchy and mother country, emboldened the colonists elsewhere in the Americas. After all, if the British colonist could win their independence, so could they.  As for the French Revolution....France came under the rule of Napoleon, and he engaged France in a European war of conquest. Therefor, he was not as interested or concerned with French colonies in the Western Hemisphere. Realizing this, French colonists staged successful uprisings because Napoleon could not risk sending troops over to quell uprisings when he was engaging Britain in a war. This eventually lead to him selling Louisiana to the USA (after the successful revolt in Haiti).

    By the way, be sure you aware the ten points as many people doing their HW and getting help often forget.
