How did the band The Maine get their name?

i really love them and ive been looking EVERYWHERE for the answer. its starting to bother me. i know that they are from arizona...so how did they get maine?

idk thats a really good questionn! i just tried googling and you're right i cant find it anywhereee. i actually saw them live last thursday =] theyr awesomee :) but ill def keep checking back at this question to see if anyone can answer cuz now im curious lol

I remember one of them, I think it was John, and he said that they got the name because they were driving somewhere, and there were on a street. He said it was called "Maine St." (I think. It had Maine in the name) So that's where they got The Maine from.

I can't seem to find where I got the answer from, maybe one of their Q&A's. But I remember one of them telling that story.

they have said this in plenty of iterviews on youtube and buzz net. its from Maine Street they liked how it sounded and kept it so... ( i hoped that Helped)
