How did the discovery of the Americas change Europeans sense of history?

  1. If you were to get hold of a history book for high school age kids in Britian, you would see that the American Revolution was nothing more than a blip on their radar.  It is not mentioned except as a conflict that was going on with the King.  There is no study of the events, like we have here in America.  However, if you choose History as your major in college or university, then you would read text books that were written by American historians.  So how could it have changed the Sense of History?


  2. How would it change their view of history? Discovering something NEW would not have anything to do with OLD things.
