Just curious... I tried googling for answers, but I didn't get anything out of it.

  1. teeth are real good.... ;) Otherwise, scraping against rocks would work much like an emery board I'd think...

  2. Forget their fingernails..that's easy! What about their TOENAILS??? LOL Kinda hard to bite them!! (Although I did see a video on here of a baby doing it.) Kinda hard to imagine a man..or esp. a woman doing it! I know they probably wore sandals  or no shoes...but still!!(esp. in bed!!!)lol

  3. Probably the same way I trim my fingernails. I use my teeth and bite them off.

  4. They did a lot more manual work than we did - killing animals, tending crops.  Fingernails do not get long that way - they are brittle and will break off.  You don't see farm workers with manicures.

  5. Well you see back then there finger nails probably broke off

I remember watching a video of a gorilla human

    Biting at it's finger nail

and if you observe many gorillas and orangatangs bite there nails or suck on there thumb which can cause the nails to get weaker and tend to easily more break off
