As a former chef, the basic influence was through the aristocracy, the kings and other royalty having ties to the other European monarchy brought in chefs and food from the continent, and over the years and wars fought with France there foods and food styles crept into the everyday uses of the British chefs and homemakers (butter, cream, certain veg, meats and desserts).

    When things settled down in the late 19th century french chefs were imported by high society households and they made even more inroads to the English diet, the famous chef Auguste Escoffier worked at several Ritz hotels in Britian and help build there hotels food trade and made french cuisine more acceptable to there palates.

    French cuisne has influence alot of countrys including Canada were I live and was a chef, even countrys like Vietnam have had te fench make inroads with there foods.


  2. They used spices and different flavors on cooking. They had different sausage and herbs. Garlic and other powerful smells and tastes were inquired. The French tried to get some brittish to try recipies and have used skills in cooking.
