  1. music of india is highly mathematical in nature. Basically there are 7 notes. Out of which 2 notes donot have any variations. But other 5 notes have 2-3 variations. Due to these variation a whole lot of permutation and combinations arise which are termed as "Raagas".

    Coincidentally ancient  Indians have observed that animals involuntarily produce certain 'Raagas" when they make noises or sounds. Birds produce certain Raagas, Carnivorous animals produce certain raagas.

    So Indian music is a mixture of math + nature + observation. The end product is quite melodious.
